The wedding ceremony took place in the morning, whereby the groom, together with his family and friends, drove all the way to the bride's house in Pantai Remis so he could fetch her back to his own house in Ipoh. The one-way journey took approximately an hour and a half, and activities were held to test the sincerity of the groom. The groom's "brothers" took up the challenges to spin on the spot with a hand on the ear while the other pointing the ground and then sit on the balloon which held by another friend, ate bun filled with wasabi, and drank beer from a bowl using three connecting straws. The ultimate challenge came when they forced the groom to read mushy love letter to his bride and he was shy to declare his "Wifey, wifey, I love you" part. He even had to smear lipstick on his lips and kissed a "contract paper" that he promised to love her with his life. In the end, they told him that they'd only open the door if he managed to sing "The Moon Represent My Heart".
It was a private but grand wedding banquet, for invitations were only sent for family members, relatives and close friends. There were dancing performances such as latin dance, cowboy dance, cha-cha and so on performed by the children. The two emcees took their turn to sing on stage and there was even a magician who came up to each table and performed magics for the guests. Before the banquet ended, there was a part whereby few chefs fried the rice for the guests to see and the food served was awesome. Not to mention, this wedding banquet was free of charge and no red packets were to be received from the guests.
When I arrived Ipoh at 1530 last Tuesday, my mother fetched me to his stall in food court. He told me he would be bringing me to his friend's wedding dinner tomorrow night as his friend appeared out of nowhere in the morning and told him he was getting married the next day and wanted him to join him to fetch the bride. Mother didn't object and the only thing she said was that she didn't have to cook my dinner portion. My boy went for a haircut after that and he said he looked like Francis Ng in Triumph in the Skies 2, especially when he pretended to be cool in the picture attached above.
I stayed over at his house since we had to wake up early and I wore his clothes to sleep. The journey was quite long and I fell asleep in the car, exhausted and lacked of sleep for few days in a row. I didn't even notice when he waved his hands at the back, trying to make me grab his hands since he was sitting in front. Then, only he knew I fell asleep. Haha~
Waiting for the bride's "sisters" to get ready for pranking.
Refreshments and lunch after fetching the bride back.
After the lunch, we went back to his house for a nap before I went back home to get ready for the wedding dinner. The weather was so hot I almost melting when I napped. Gosh.
The wedding dinner took place at New She Lai Ton Restaurant, which was directly behind Shuttle 8 Disco and I jokingly told my boyfriend that we should have our second round at the disco. Hahaha~ Instead, we went to the food court and had beancurd flower. *FAT DIE ME LIAO LOR*
Menu of the banquet.
Someone used fork and knife to peel prawn's shell.
Okay, me too XD
Do you see abalone? :P
The chefs were busy frying rice in claypot.
I thought I came back to take pictures and sample food for dishes he intended to add in to the menu in the food court, but turned out the pizza and cheese baked rice would have to wait. The wedding banquet was awesome, especially when I was with my boy. We joked about everything, I critiqued the dancers' movements and expressions and feelings, he sang love songs to me and purposely held onto me so I wouldn't sneak attack at him. Hehehe :3
Lastly, attached picture was the groom and bride of the day.
And also, my boy.
